About Training
Training is an important part of all activities, and shooting is no exception. When I decided to buy a new handgun after a close encounter with a wolf in 2002, I immediately sought out qualified instructors to teach me the skills I needed to use a firearm safely. Although I had owned guns for many years, I had never taken formalized training classes.
I was lucky enough to pick up a flyer at a gun show advertising Massad Ayoob's Lethal Force Institute. I had read his articles in gun magazines for many years but never really sought out his classes. The local classes were sponsored by Firearms Training Associates. After the first class I was hooked. I have since joined Dave's team and am certified by LFI to teach several courses.
I currently hold the following Instructor Certifications:
I also hold the following Range Officer Certifications:
I am also a certified Glock Armorer
Final qualification for the Snubby Summit, 2006. I shot a 30-27x from concealment with a borrowed 625-10 2" using full power loads, taking 2nd in the six shot class.
